The one where we rewind and reflect

December 2021

Hey everyone and welcome back to our blog page! If this is your first time, welcome to FSE’s blog page. We hope that you and your loved ones are well and safe.

We wanted to wish you all a happy holiday and wish that you are enjoying this festive period of the year.

It is safe to say that 2021 has been another roller-coaster of a year, with many highs and lows both for us at FSE and for you all, however this makes it more special when we say that we're very proud of each and every team member. With the pressures and stresses of everyday life, you have all put in 110% and delivered your best efforts in every skating session, which is clearly present in the endless progress and accomplishments achieved, yet as always it has been quite a crazy one, so where do we begin?

Thanks to all your support and continued dedication to the team, our academy is at its strongest and greatest, with each team member going strength to strength. What better way to start by looking at some of the biggest achievements for FSE yet. We introduced tutorials, YouTube videos, the FSE Blog anniversary, crash courses and most importantly Skater of the Week! Our FSE academy has truly been an ever-growing family.

Of course, it makes it a great opportunity to reflect on your individual year as well and feel proud for all your achievements too. Reflecting upon your journey this year is super important to help you realise just how far you’ve come, the habits picked up along the way and maybe the mistakes to not make again too. This can be applied to your skating, academic and work journeys, but importantly your personal growth journey too, to ensure that you’re moving into the new year with an optimistic mindset.

Take a moment to think back to a triumphant moment, one where you felt proud, happy, or successful, and remember that feeling, to take it with you into the new year. This is something to help motivate you and appreciate even the smallest moments. Often, we feel happy after we’ve accomplished certain challenges or finally reached a new goal, which is certainly what you want to be doing more of, to make you the best version of yourself. This for sure will improve your personal and professional relationships.

We often have a tendency to just think of the negatives and the downfalls that have happened but remember, those hurdles are all part of a much bigger picture and journey to make you stronger every time, teach a lesson or at least in hindsight, might have been a blessing in disguise!

As always we want to thank everyone, our founders, the coaches, our team-mates and YOU, for consistently helping us stride towards our goal. We wish that you have a lovely New Year and see you again in 2022!

Quote of the month:

‘Year’s end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instil in us’
