The one where another chapter ends and a new book begins

Updated: Jan 31, 2021

December 2020

Hey Guys, welcome back to our blog page, we hope that you have all been well. This is going to be the final blog for the year 2020.

For many of us it has been a very difficult year for ourselves and our families, to say the least. It has been quite an emotional, physical and mental rollercoaster. With that in mind, we always try to look for the positives in things and to never give up- even though it is sometimes difficult to do so, but throughout it all, we had each other’s back.

This month we really wanted to keep up our spirit so we talked to many team members collectively across all training levels and asked what they were most proud of this year despite the circumstances; below we have collated their perception of what they are pleased with:

Our seniors have been very proud of all the work they’ve put in creating our website alongside our head coach captain Ahmed Saad; of course this was not an easy job however they were determined to produce this platform which best represents our team and what we stand for. Their creativity shines through each page on the website! Their also extremely happy of all the progress they’ve made during lockdown by best utilising their time and spending it by gaining strength and increasing their flexibility. In return their progress on the ice is inevitable.

Our juniors are also most proud of their progress in both on-ice and off-ice training. Many are now more confident in their abilities to be able to jump and spin!

Our beginners are very pleased and happy to have joined a new community of people whom are trying to really put themselves out there. It is not easy joining such a new sport which in Egypt is not really heard of, however the more they’ve practiced, the more and more fun and interested they’ve become.

Our team as a whole has made unimaginable progress throughout it all and we cannot be more proud of each member of our growing family. Many agreed that one of our teams greatest achievement was investing time into producing team T-shirts, which almost all members wear during our practise sessions. It really represents our community, our team and our sport.

Most importantly, we would like to thank our head coaches Captain Ahmed Saad and Captain Shaimaa El-Adl and assistant coach Maryam Mohammed. Our team would not exist if it weren’t for their continuous hard work, dedication and ambition to the team and our training sessions! We also appreciate those who have taken our team photos and videos- it captures the moment in a way for us to later remember it as a beautiful memory!

We wish everyone a happy holiday and a happy new year!

If you would like to join something completely new, feel free to contact us in the new year by getting in touch with our coach, Captain Ahmed Saad.

Quote of the month

“Make New Year's goals and dive deep into a new world, to plan and discover what you would like to happen in your life this year.”
